The Tele2 Speedtest Service helps you test your Internet connection speed through various methods and is available not only to customers of Tele2 but anyone with an Internet connection. Test your connection using speedtest.net's tool, downloading a file via your web browser (HTTP) or downloading and uploading via FTP.
Speedtest is run on a number of fast servers in locations throughout Europe connected to Tele2's international IP core network with 10GE. The address http://speedtest.tele2.net is anycasted, meaning that you should automatically be served by the server closest (network wise) to your location. Read more about the technical details of this service.
You are currently being served by xxx-SPEEDTEST-1 located in City, Country.
We provide a variety of testfiles with different sizes, for your convenience.

These are sparsefiles and so although they appear to be on disk, they are not limited by disk speed but rather by CPU. The Speedtest servers are able to sustain close to 10 Gbps (~1GByte/s) of throughput. See the technical details to learn more about sparse files and the setup of the Tele2 Speedtest service.
To download on a Unix like system, try wget -O /dev/null http://speedtest.tele2.net/10GB.zip
After some requests we have also added the possibility to upload data using HTTP:
$ curl -T 20MB.zip http://speedtest.tele2.net/upload.php -O /dev/null
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed

In addition to the files offered here via HTTP, there is also an FTP server setup to serve files, you'll reach it at ftp://speedtest.tele2.net. You can upload files to /upload. Uploaded files will be automatically removed as soon as the upload is complete.
speedtest.net is an easy to use web-based (Flash) test to test both upload and download speeds as well as latency to any of a long list of servers around the world. Tele2 Speedtest servers runs a speedtest.net server. Go to speedtest.net to test your connection. This server (xxx-SPEEDTEST-1) will automatically be picked for you. After the test you can choose a another server and location to perform further testing.
The Tele2 Speedtest service is distributed over multiple machines spread across locations in Europe. By going to http://speedtest.tele2.net you will always end up on the closest location (network-wise) to you. You can specifically select another test node from the below list if you want to perform tests towards a particular location.
This edition builds on the strengths of its predecessors with significant updates, including three completely new chapters that expand the book's coverage into key areas of foundation engineering:
Geotechnical engineering forms the literal and figurative foundation of all civil infrastructure. Every skyscraper, bridge, highway, and dam relies on the mechanical behavior of soil and rock to remain safe, stable, and functional.
Most engineering students can access the full text or chapters for free via institutional subscriptions (e.g., ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, or Taylor & Francis platforms).
Geotechnical engineering is unique because nature does not manufacture soil and rock to precise specifications. Unlike steel or concrete, earth materials are highly variable, unpredictable, and deeply influenced by water and environmental changes. an introduction to geotechnical engineering 3rd edition pdf
While the book emphasizes hand calculations to build intuition, it introduces readers to how software (like GeoStudio or PLAXIS) applies these equations to solve complex, multi-layered soil problems. 4. How to Study and Master Geotechnical Engineering
Water flow through soil matrices dictates the stability of foundations and earthen dams. The book covers Darcy’s Law, hydraulic conductivity, and the construction of flow nets to calculate seepage discharge and uplift pressures. 3. Principles of Effective Stress
"An Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering (3rd Edition)" remains an unparalleled guide for anyone stepping into the world of civil engineering. By blending rigorous scientific principles with practical design insights, Holtz, Kovacs, and Sheahan equip the next generation of engineers to build a safer, more resilient world from the ground up. To help narrow down your study plan or resources, tell me: This edition builds on the strengths of its
The third edition serves as a significant update to the foundational work by Robert D. Holtz, William D. Kovacs, and Thomas C. Sheahan. This textbook remains a cornerstone for students and professionals, bridging the gap between basic soil mechanics and practical engineering applications. Since the previous editions, the field has evolved to incorporate more sophisticated computational methods, environmental considerations, and advanced site investigation techniques.
: Essential for the design of walls and shoring systems.
The textbook features updated diagrams, high-resolution photographs, and clear charts. These visual aids help students conceptualize complex underground stresses and failure planes that are otherwise invisible from the surface. At its heart, the text explores the physical and mechanical properties of soil and rock. It begins with the basics of soil composition, including:
Geotechnical engineering is a foundational pillar of civil engineering, focusing on the behavior of earth materials and their application to design and construction. by Robert D. Holtz, William D. Kovacs, and Thomas C. Sheahan is widely considered a premier textbook for understanding the principles and applications of this field.
For decades, students and professionals alike have turned to one definitive text to master these principles: by Robert D. Holtz, William D. Kovacs, and Thomas C. Sheahan. With the release of the 3rd Edition , this foundational textbook has been thoroughly updated to meet the challenges of modern infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and advanced computational modeling.
Integration of updated ASTM standards for field and laboratory testing.
This phase forms the scientific core of the book, explaining how soil reacts to loads and environmental stresses.
