You must select the correct .img.gz file based on your device's chipset (S905, S922, etc.). Using the wrong image will result in a black screen or failure to boot.

: Users with older S905 (no letter) devices are advised to stay on version 4.3, as newer releases like 4.6 may drop support or experience performance issues on these specific chips.

Be extremely cautious of third-party websites offering “pre-made” EmuELEC images that include ROMs or BIOS files. The official development team does NOT support these pre-configured images and considers them copyright violations. These modified images often contain malware, have broken functionality, or are simply outdated. Always download directly from the official GitHub repository.
