This paper examines the Malayalam-language music television channel MHD TV as a case study in the transformation of regional media. While mainstream scholarship focuses on national broadcasters (Doordarshan) or global OTT platforms (Netflix, Amazon), regional music channels like MHD occupy a crucial interstitial space. This paper argues that MHD TV functions as a dual agent: it preserves the sonic and visual culture of Kerala for the diaspora while simultaneously commodifying nostalgia into a consumable, 24/7 digital product. Through a mixed-method analysis of content scheduling, YouTube integration, and audience engagement metrics, this study reveals how MHD TV navigates the tension between "pure" classical/Mappila heritage and contemporary "masala" film music. The findings suggest that MHD TV has successfully re-territorialized Malayali identity in the Gulf and Western diaspora by creating a temporal loop where film songs from the 1980s to 2020s exist synchronously.
