The focus shifts to advanced robotics as scientist and his android assistant Aida (Artificially Intelligent Digital Assistant) begin replacing agents with Life Model Decoys . Aida, corrupted by the Darkhold, kidnaps Melinda May and replaces her with a perfect replica. The paranoia reaches a fever pitch in the episode "Self Control," as Fitz and Simmons realize several of their teammates have been replaced, leading to a desperate struggle to escape before they are uploaded into a digital prison.
