The show’s roots trace back to Browngardt's animated short of the same name, created for Cartoon Network's animation showcase, The Cartoonstitute . Interestingly, Uncle Grandpa is also a spin-off of another short-lived series, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome , which was itself a spin-off of the original Cartoonstitute short.
